Why I decided to make this costume: This was my first ‘dream cosplay’ to do after I got into J-Rock. Mana was really my big obsession for a while and he is definitely one of if not the prettiest j-rocker alive. I so admire this man and his music, I had to cosplay him and I definitely went all out for the time trying to get as much down as I could.

Construction notes: The wig was from amphigory.com and the headdress was assembled from wedding items and sprays. Ostrich feathers were specially ordered and the hanging falls were hand-sculpted from sculpey into roses and strung onto thread. The makeup was a nightmare trying to find the closest stuff that I could but I made due with what I had when the time came. Rei-sama helped by doing my makeup the morning of Tekkoshocon. The top was a satin-like brocade and the feathers by the neck were hand epoxy’ed 140 of them individually onto an aluminum base plate. The dress was done from scratch. Plastic boning encased in satin ribbon slips, then all hand-sewn together into the correct shapes using vertical ribbons to a waistband. After that came an organza skirt, followed by 17 tulle and netting skirts as opposed to the original 7 I had at Katsucon. I had blue leggings and had satin ribbon tied up in X’s around my legs and wore 6 inch platformed heels with this cosplay.

Extra Thoughts: This cosplay was an all-around bitch to finish lol and a total hassle. I will most likely not be wearing it again or cosplaying mana again, but from the times that I did get it all together, it was enjoyable showing my love for mana-sama. Retired.
