Lucifer [Inspired by Kabuki] - Angel Sanctuary

Outfit: Lucifer {kabuki inspired}
Series: Angel Sanctuary/Kabuki’s Photoshoot
Completed: June 2004

Hours Spent: 40-60
Total Cost: About $260
Debut: AnimeNEXT 2004
Awards: Best Overall @ Kosaikon Autumn Ani-Fest
Why I decided to make this costume: I saw a cosplayer who went by the name of kabuki on cosplay.com in a featured segment and I was just amazed by the fact that he was a guy and was so talented. It was kind of like my hope as a new cosplayer to be like him. I loved his cape that he added on to his Lucifer outfit in the photoshoot and so I decided that I would like to try a similar concept too.

Construction notes: This outfit is mainly a vinyl, where it should have been a PVC type fabric. In any case, it was a pain and using vinyl as a first full sewing project was a bad idea. It was difficult and it is honestly very poorly made, as I was still a n00b. The sword is a plastic cutouot and the rest is vinyl and belts, and cutup backpacks haha. The cape was really huge and so I didn’t wear it for very long at the convention itself. It was trimmed with black chandelle boas.

Extra Thoughts: This outfit is also retired.
